Today another icon of Argentine aviation – the MD80 – flew in Austral colours for the last time. Flight AU 2883 from Rio Gallegos to Aeroparque landed at 6:22 AM local time signalling the end of an era....
Canada and Qatar sign an air transport agreement
Last week Qatar and Canada inked an air transport agreement that will allow carriers from each country to serve the other. Apparently. I say apparently because there has been precious little coverage of this in the Canadian media and no official Canadian government website (at the time of writing) has any information about this.
A tribute to the Chancha
Aerolineas Argentinas first ordered the 737-200 in 1969 with the first frame arriving in Ezeiza on January 29th, 1970. Soon after, they exercised an option to double the fleet size from the initial six to twelve frames.
